Spacehub worked with Buckley Gray Yeoman on the proposals for a mixed-use development on Woodseer Street. The site is located on Brick Lane, at the heart of the Truman Brewery Estate, and is currently bordered by blank walls and narrow pavements. Our proposals greatly improve the public realm experience on both Brick Lane and Woodseer Street with widened pavements, active frontage, and street trees. A new extension to the existing Dray Walk will create an arcade of small independent shops, terminating in a yard space with trees and planting. The proposals tie into the wider Truman Brewery Estate, and take inspiration from the historic tapestry of hard materials. A series of roof terraces will provide amenity for office workers in addition to providing further urban greening. The proposals were developed with extensive public consultation and engagement with local residents.
