Situated in the centre of Cowcross Yards, Farringdon, a new solid timber bench has been constructed. Made from a FSC certified Iroko, the bench is centralised around an existing Liriodendron tulipifera tree and is laid on a steel base frame with feature ‘X’ shaped lights located on each end, flush with the timber surface. Power infrastructure is built into the bench and accessed through a securely lockable end panel.
Signage has also been positioned at entranceways to the space. Constructed from black powder coated steel with debossed white lettering the signage. A gantry sign is suspended along the Britton Street approach and comprises of square section steel with the sign suspended centrally.
The lighting comprises a series of 9 parallel linear light units designed to create an attractive atmosphere that encourages people to dwell within the space. The light units are fixed by means of metal bar and bracket fittings, with fixing plates recessed flush with soffit and are contained within a square steel box powder coated, dark grey colour.
