In collaboration with Wandsworth Borough Council and HTA Architects, Spacehub is pleased to share that planning permission has been granted for Block A, part of the transformation of the Alton Estate in Roehampton.

Spacehub is shaping the landscape that will support new affordable homes and a landmark community hub.

The design establishes a welcoming and connected environment, with greener streets, new civic spaces and a network of play and communal areas for residents. A new community play landscape at Hersham Close, a shared courtyard for residents and improved pedestrian routes will support everyday social life across the estate.

Key features include 40 new trees, a biodiversity net gain of almost 30 percent and 767m² of play space, exceeding policy requirements. The scheme also significantly strengthens urban greening at a key entrance to the estate and introduces diverse planting and habitats across the site.

The proposals have been shaped through engagement with local residents and the Youth Advisory Panel, responding to calls for greener spaces, better play opportunities and safer, more welcoming routes.
