Millharbour Forest nears completion

Spacehub have been working on the first phase of the Millharbour masterplan for Ballymore on the Isle of Dogs. The design of – what is affectionately known as the ‘Forest’ – is inspired by our need to connect with nature, highlighting the positive impact it can have on everyday life.

100 trees are composed amongst an undulating landscape of ferns and moss, momentarily transporting visitors away from urban life to a more peaceful place. At its centre a dry river bed leads your eye through the space, connecting the adjacent dock with Millharbour.

In the early days of the masterplan the Forest creates a backdrop for the marketing suite in the Ballymore Design Cube on the dock. In the later stages the Forest will be integrated into the overall masterplan, providing flood attenuation for the neighbouring buildings, as well as amenity and play space.
